I am a small hobby chinchilla breeder near St. Louis, Missouri, dedicated to ethical chinchilla breeding. I started breeding chinchillas because I wanted to share the joy and love that these amazing animals bring to our lives, while also focusing on chinchilla care and helping to maintain and improve the species by ensuring they are well-socialized.
At XOXO Chinchillas, my program is rooted in a genuine passion for ethical chinchilla breeding, focusing on raising well-socialized chinchillas that are healthy and happy. I believe that socialization is one of the most important foundations for a chinchilla’s lifelong success as a companion, which is why it is at the center of everything I do. From an early age, each chinchilla is raised with consistent, positive human interaction, helping them build trust, confidence, and familiarity with everyday handling and care.
I take a thoughtful, hands-on approach to chinchilla care, handling each chinchilla regularly and tailoring socialization methods to their individual personality. This allows them to develop calm, friendly temperaments and transition more smoothly into their future homes. Alongside frequent interaction, my chinchillas are provided with enriching environments filled with safe toys and activities that encourage curiosity, mental stimulation, and natural behaviors.
I am a proud member of the Empress Chinchilla Breeders Cooperative (ECBC) and the Mutation Chinchilla Breeders Association (MCBA), where I stay connected with a community of experienced, ethical chinchilla breeding professionals. I strongly believe that showing my breeding chinchillas for unbiased evaluation is essential to maintaining and improving quality. Participating in shows allows my animals to be assessed against established standards, which helps ensure I continue to produce chinchillas with sound structure, desirable traits, and exceptional overall quality.
